I've avoided having my Dad meet my past boyfriends/friends, but the time has come for him to meet my boyfriend. He wanted us to all go out to eat at a restaurant. My Dad says he's not judgmental but he was very disappointed when I was dating a guy of another ethnicity, even though his own wife is not the same ethnicity.

My boyfriend is the same ethnicity as us (Irish) but I'm afraid my Dad won't accept him because he doesn't go to college, and my Dad is a professor. I already told him that he isn't going to college, but that he works 2 jobs, and he just shook his head and asked me what was wrong with him. I told him he's only 20 and will have plenty of time to change his mind or stick with his choices, which I truly believe.

I feel like this meeting will be awkward.
