Perhaps it's more interesting not to know, and to be able to speculate!
Aren't Scotland Yard trying to suppress a great deal of evidence from the time? I think I read that as it contained the names of police informants at the time, it wasn't appropriate to release it. To me that seems odd reasoning, I mean they're all long dead, it's probably at least the 5th generation of their families alive now, so who would care? Does this suggest a cover-up?
I don't know a great deal about Jack The Ripper, did they ever find a weapon near a crime scene? I imagine he would have worn gloves, but perhaps some DNA could be obtained from a weapon or similar piece of evidence and compared against DNA from living relatives of the most definite suspects.
