It depends on how long you have been working there -- what you want leave for --(is it important or trivial) - and how bad do you need this job?
Talk with your boss or supervisor and see if you can work something out -- if you have a good reason - and it is not just to "play" hooky -- but is for something important - you might could work extra hours or something to compensate - but if someone else asked to be off before you -- then you're stuck -- if it is not for medical or emergency -- Can you afford to lose that job?
