Mines split between two days

1) January 25th 2010. My grandfather was taken into the hospital on December 25th 2010 because he was having some issues that we thought were going to be a routine little check up and get out after some medication. They held him til the 1st and was then diagnosed with stage 3 lung cancer. He was given 7 months to live. On january 25th 2010 i got called to the hospital by my parents. It was then that the pain began. The wishing to only have one word to him, the wishing that he could speak back to me. Everything, and the worst part was that he could not speak or respond in any way. He had been there for me at all times, and still is with me, it just hurts and was a very extremely difficult day......

2) I just recently finished up Basic Military Training for the Air Force. During this time i was an element leader (which means i was in charge of about 15 trainees or so) During the first few weeks our Military Training Instructor (MTI) would give us 15 minute phone calls if we did well. Every week for the first 3 weeks the Element Leaders and Dorm Chief were not given phone calls and were forced to watch as the rest of our flight got calls home to wives/girlfriends/parents etc. When i finally got my phone call i found out that a EXTREMELY close friend of mine was in a serious head on collision while going to the SAT's and was very possibly not going to live.


Either one was bad and shakes me inside still to this day
