I need a piece of software that is free that will allow me to permanently place a subtitle track onto an avi file, from a .srt file, and then cut the avi file down to a small clip in order to turn it into a gif. I don't need the software to be able to turn it into a gif although if it did that would be ideal. I just need it to be able to do this reasonably quickly.
