My boyfriend and i have been together on and off since high school and I really don't know where this relationship is going. I am 29 now, Indian and very confused. My boyfriend is also Indian. The relationship hasn't really been good but I am comfortable with him. He has cheated on me in the past and I have taken him back. I have now let him move in with me. He treats me like I am a small piece of his life. He told me that i am a nobody and will always come last in his life. I think he is just acting this way. He spends most of his time cruising the internet, drinking and smoking pot. He took me to starbucks for coffee on valentines day.
I met a different guy over a year ago and we bacame friends.He is white and italian. As time went by he fell in love with me. He always put me first in his life even down to the food we ate together. I noticed that he would never put a piece of food in his mouth until i started eating. He would sacrifice for me and give up things he wanted or needed so i can have the things I wanted or needed. He even paid to shut down the local bar we go to so him and I could have a private dinner together. He told that being with my boyfriend was lowering my self esteem and i was developing self worth issues. When he finally told me that he loved me unconditionally I told him it was best we never speak again. It has been 11 months since we last spoke. He did wish me a happy diwali but i didn't answer him back. I don't know if that was the right decision. I now realize he was the only person in my life who was being true to me

Your boyfriend doesn't sound worthy of you. I would have a heart to heart about how you feel and that you don't like the way he is treating you. He is verbally abusive and you deserve so much better. It is good you walked away from the other guy for now until you figure our your current relationship. You don't have to stay with your boyfriend just because you have been together since high school. People change as they get older and unfortunately sometimes feelings do too. If he is still be disrespectful with his actions and words, then dump him. I would not jump into a relationship with this other guy, but it is fine to reconnect if you end things with your boyfriend.
