If I'd spent 400 on that thing - I'd want it to work perfectly. Mind you I wouldn't buy one - I don't like the awkward way apple products work.

Personally I would and if it is new then I would return it for an exchange. But it depends on the dead pixel policy that Apple has. Most manufacturers allow up to 2 dead pixels in a certain area though so worth checking first.
