There was a girl in a class representative meeting today in college.

Basically we have a deadline set for the coursework and she said it would be better if we first concentrate on a pass criteria.

I think the reason she said it is because if we meet a first deadline with a pass for coursework than you can improve it to a merit and distinction but if you fail to get a pass on this deadline than the maximum you can get is a pass. What do you think about her advice? She is a distinction student.
