my recent ex (split 5 weeks ago) split with me after a year because he found texts on my phone from a guy i met on fb that i got to text me about a job as he knew where i could get one and my bf now does not trust me he says its not the fact i text him its the fact i gave my number over fb and didnt tell him. he ignored me for a week but with help from his mam he spoke to me but said it wasnt happening. she told me he told her he loved me but was very hurt and was in a mood at home for days. i know he loved me when we were together as he wanted us to move in together. 2 weeks after it happened whenever i initiated contact he always text back just normal day to day stuff and he told me he missed me one night. i asked him a few times to meet or to think about meeting and he always said no why would i. last sunday i tried talking about getting back together and he said its over and is not getting back with me and to stop harrasing him with questions and how i used to give him hassle to cover up for myself and hes happier without the hassle even though i have reassured him 100 times and deleted my fb since.

hes a footballer and friday night he text me out of the blue just to say he lost his match and i said theres always next week and not to give up hope and he said haha i wont! its nearly 6 weeks and i miss him so much all i want to do is see him but he wont agree to meet and the silence of him not talking to me is horrible. it was long distance (but i used to stay at his house 5 days a week) but im terrified i wont see him again when any time iv asked him he said no. why did he just text me out of the blue like that if he doesnt even want to be with me anymore? im confused but hurt hes acting like this over a few texts instead of at at least trying and i really dont want him randomly texting like that unless its to talk about getting back together or meeting, as it out me backs to square one. should i tell him this or would it push him further away? please tell me what you think and what i should do im heartbroken and its not getting better

OK, you are in a predicament. This is what you need to do. You have to find out if he is trying to punish you or if he is done with you. LEAVE HIM ALONE. If he is trying to punish you, he will be contacting you and if he is done, he will not contact you. Stop trying so hard. Right now you are playing a chess game.
