i want to switch to straight talk because it is cheaper but since straight talk runs off of towers for both verizon and at&t can i use my at&t phone to open an account with straight talk

Straight Talk has no sim cards like Verizon Phones.... therefore, your UNLOCKED ATT or Tmobile phone is worthless on Straight Talk. Sorry

Technically you might be able to get it to work.
