Its difficult to say. The guy sounds like an a s s whatever his motives were. My initial reaction is that he was hoping for some fun and was disappointed when it was obviously not going to happen. I would keep my distance from him in the future. Be polite as you have to work together, but dont encourage him by going out for drinks.
