I'm surprised USA hasn't stopped... everyone 'getting their house in order'.
So many must be wringing their hands in joy... saying good bye to their pets.
What a wonderful time for them all.

Simple. If you've actually read the bible, with the foreknowledge of what society was like, and what literary devices were popular back then, there is no mention of this "rapture" anywhere.
The passages that supposedly support the "rapture" are instead referring to the ultimate destruction of the Roman Empire, which came about a few short centuries later, after the Germans decided that they were sick of being invaded.
And so the Germans came, and Rome was burned to the ground, thus leading to the dark ages.
