The last couple of days my laptop which runs Windows 7 has been unresponsive. Every time I try and get on the internet it becomes unresponsive and I can't run any programs. I have norton and have scanned the computer a million times and the only threat is tracking cookies which I have fixed. I do not know what to do and if anyone has any good tips on how to fix this it would be greatly appreciated. The computer is pretty new and no new programs have been installed. I have downloaded all the windows updates and it still hasnt fixed the problem. I have a Toshiba Satellite L675 if that makes a difference.

I would suggest you back up your files and reformat the hard drive. There could be a lot of junk on it tha tis slowing it down or there could be a virus. Reformatting will wipe the hard drive clean.

However, before you do, make sure you back up your files first. You can do so with a device known as an IDE/SATA to USB Adapter (google "BT-300 topmicrousa"). This device works really well in situations like these because you are able to back up files without having to log in through the operating system (the thing that you claim is slow). This device can transfer files at speeds around 480mbps which is insanely fast.

Just back up your files, reformat, then recopy.
