My boyfriend bought a car a while back ago and he didn't want it no more so he gave it to his ex ( that was when he was with her back then) He didn't finish paying it off! she is suppose to pay it. The thing is that they didn't change the tittle name of the car he gave to her. They sign a paper saying that she is responsible for the car and she is paying it of ,But the car is still under his name. I herd it is illegal to do that because he isn't the owner of the car he didn't finish paying it of. I told him that he couldn't do that because that's not his car its the banks car because he didn't pay it of completely.
In case that girl crash the car or she didn't pay the payments it can be repossess and he can get in a lot of trouble. I am right or wrong? I really don't know if I'm right about this. Also he doesn't want to see her and deal with seeing her. I am really piss of because he can get bad credit because of his ex. I am marrying this guy and he needs to deal with his problems. I am piss off right now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

what dose he have to do to put the car title under her name?

He cannot transfer the ownership of a car that he does not own. Their written agreement is only a personal memorandum of intent You are correct if she fails to pay or wreck the car - it is HIS responsibility.

If you two cannot get on the same page financially I would consider rethinking the marriage - once married all debts become joint and if he is this irresponsible then you need to serious think about marriage
